By stripping the original meaning of the material, TAZ creates a completely new identity.
With this materialconcept TAZ creates objects in association with young designers of which the first outcomes can be viewed right now.

Cathelijne Huis in ‘t Veld (founder TAG-Accessoiries): ‘Wraps are made in the Philippines. The fabric is called abaca, making of this fabric is an old Philippine tradition. It is made out of the banana tree. These products help to maintain the tradition and give employment to the weavers. Wraps can be worn in many different ways and always look very glamorous.’

The effects of cotton cultivation on nature

‘For my thesis I researched the affects of (conventional) cotton on climate change. To give the consumer an idea of the track of cotton, I designed labels with the amount of buckets of water, which was used for the product. At the backside I described the track in words, from cotton plant, till product.’ Amber Dekker.
