///FASHION REPORT BERLIN

During Berlin Fashion Week 2009, which took place last June, Pop Up Shop GlORE opened her doors in the stylish neighborhood Mitte. GLORE is already steady based as a total store concept in Nürnberg and München and as an online store. Pop up GLORE likes to team up with other stores and just move in for a couple of months. GLORE brings in great Hiphonest labels, a folding interior and hopefully another nice opening party with organic drinks.
Store Owner Bernd Hausmann: ‘Thanks to Annouk from Hiphonest and Kim from Ecofashionworld (both as well founders of pop-up YOIstore) I was really inspired to open my own conceptstore.’ Thanks Bernd, ‘Das tut mir leid!’
GUYS GO SHOPPING!

Surprising was the varies offer of menswear, labels like Slowmo, Armedangels (see T-shirt), Misericodia and some nice pairs of the GRID (see picture))Collection of VEJA.
GLOBAL HIPHONEST CITIZINS
Besides an awesome collection of Hiphonest labels GLORE invited their international network of people working in sustainable fashion. Look who showed up, not on a red carpet but just in the streets.

Rianne de Witte her SEASCAPES collection 2010 was inspired by the beach life of the 1930ies. In combination with organic shapes of the underwater world the collection creates an art-deco atmosphere.

Style this striped suite with a pair of high heal pumps for a sophisticated look or just with some easy open sandals to feel comfortable. And check out the stylish bathing cap!

Berlin based designer Christine Mayer developed her collection out of old army clothes, military tents from Sweden and hand-woven linen.

It is not easy to make something wearable and luxurious from these old clothes and fabrics, so we think Mayer did a great job by making these cutting edge items. The jackets look like they are made to become ‘your favorite’ jacket.

Searching for eco footwear at Modefabriek we found these ultra stylish kicks from label Keep. The ‘honest’ story was a bit vague for us and on their website it is not very clear in which way they are producing. But thanks to mister Google we found some great answers at our favourite sustainable design site Inhabitat.com written by Jill Danyelle.

FIN is an Olso based label that aims to be at the forefront in developing luxurious organic and environmental friendly fabrics. The collection spring/summer 2010 shows an esthetical image of eco-chic materials like organic bamboo, organic cotton, wild silk and baby alpaca.

According the designers of FIN milk is the new sustainable fabric for spring. Milk fabrics are produced from surplus milk proteins not intended for food. Milk is super soft and has a luxurious texture.

On Thursday July 2 Pants to Poverty launched their new international campaign at the streets in Berlin, close to the Hiphonest event TheKey. Pants to Poverty got famous in the UK with underwear flashmobs, performances and organic underwear. Their campaign against the use of pesticides for textile production takes place in about 20 cities all over the world.

I have to admit this is not a real sexy image of underwear, but that was part of the performance-concept..
Check out their website to buy their good undies!
